Trick or Treat: Fall Decorating!

Trick or Treat!   What is your favorite holiday? Halloween is the perfect holiday to settle into fall with—costumes, pumpkins, sweet candy and more! Decorating your house for any holiday can be stressful and out of your budget, but here are some DIY ideas that will spice and spook your home!   Candy Corn Painted Wine Bottles Put your used wine bottles to good use and paint them orange, yellow and white to resemble the perfect Halloween candy—super easy to make and cost friendly!   Candlelit Mummy Mason Jars Place a small candle inside of any size mason jar, wrap the mason jar in gauze and draw creative spooky eyes on it! Now you’ve turned an ordinary jar into a mummy masterpiece!   Silly Face Painted Pumpkins Pick your favorite pumpkin patch to go to and find the perfect pumpkin to paint a face on! This makes for such a fun creative activity (or competition) for the entire family.   Pumpkin Burlap Wreath This fun wreath can be made simply by morphing a wire clothing hanger into a circular shape and wrapping orange painted burlap around the wire. Finally, attach a green painted stem to the top of the wreath and you’re finished! Add some spiders to the wreath for a spooky twist.   Spooky Skull Rocks (perfect activity for little ones) Paint your scariest skull on a rock with your little ones by painting any size rock or stone white and using black to paint the skull face. Nice skulls, silly skulls, or scary skulls—the possibilities are limitless with this fun project!
The Leaves are Changing!

. I think we can all agree that the weather patterns in 2018 have been a whirlwind—literally! 80+ degrees in October, wow! According to the fall foliage report of NC, the leaves are starting to change right before our eyes. Peak change time for trees in the Piedmont area is October 24-31. It’s a great time of year for a fun family photoshoot!  Don’t miss this perfect opportunity for a great photo-op. The peak colors of this year’s leaf color change are yellow, orange and a deep hot red.     This weekend is a great kickoff to seeing the fall colors in Western NC. Our top picks are a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, a trip to Asheville, NC to the Biltmore Estate or Chimney Rock near Lake Lure, NC! Where is your favorite place to view the fall foliage?
